Ship accidents are known as losses due to ship collisions, shipwrecks, ship aground, the discovery of goods at sea. One of the accidents at sea is the running aground of a ship. This research was conducted with the aim of finding out the causes of the MT.Yellow Park ship running aground on the Outer Buoy of the MusiRiver and the efforts or actions taken by the crew when the ship ran aground or toavoid the ship aground again on the Outer Buoy of the Musi River. The research was carried out when the researcher carried out practical work on board MT.Yellow Park as a cadet deck for 1 year. Primary data was obtained directly through interviews with related sources, namely the captain, chief officer on the MT.Yellow Park ship. Secondary data was obtained through journals, books aboutactions when the ship ran aground, articles, and further analysis. Theresults of thisstudy indicate that the reason the MT.Yellow Park ship ran aground was the ship loaded in excess of the safe draft permitted by the local Harbor Authority and PortAuthority Office. In dealing with the shipwrecked situation, efforts have been madein accordance with the existing standard operating procedures. In order to avoid ashipwreck again, it is hoped that they can be more careful and thorough in readingthe situation, the condition of the ship, and the condition of the waters. As well as coordinating with the shore base regarding conditions on board that do not complywith company policies.
